ERASMUS+ KA2 STRATEGICAL PARTNERSHIP PROJECT
„CIRCULAR ECONOMY IN METAL INDUSTRIES VOCATIONAL EDUCATION AND TRAINING“

The project will support SMEs and their employees in metal clusters, so that they have a better understanding of the ongoing changes (such as the climate crisis), recognize their impact and take appropriate adaptation measures. The project will demonstrate the potential of the CIRCULAR ECONOMY, especially in metal processing, manufacturing and other processes. In addition, VET teachers and learners will be involved in specialist training and development activities 200 participants from these target groups will be included. Young people, especially young women, should learn about the new sustainability orientation of the metal professions. It is planned to include an initiative group of about 12 to 300 young women and men.

The project activities consist of three stages:

Analysis Phase, describing existing metalworking and manufacturing tasks, processes, and competencies.

  • Competences of the Circular Economy. Related to the results of the analysis, the partners identify new competencies that need to be taught in the right ways and contribute to a convincing and adaptable future value chain development concept in metalworking companies.
  • Training Programs. R&D results and best practice examples of the circular economy that already exist in metal industry SMEs, results will be systematically recorded and incorporated into learning materials. The partners will create and offer OPEN VOCATIONAL COURSES „PAOK“ and various „Living Labs“ programs as dissemination events for the circular economy. In addition, the project partners will create a SUPPORT STRUCTURE and provide an overview of career opportunities.
